This patient centered approach integrates osteopathic principles which treat the mind, body, and spirit as a whole and have a substantial focus on preventative care. Dr. Alam uses Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine as an integral part of his patient care when treating certain medical ailments (including but not limited to: back pain, headaches, muscle spasm, pneumonia, ear infections, sinus infections, certain gastrointestinal ailments, and numerous others).Dr. Alam was raised in Chicago and went to the University of Illinois at Chicago for his undergraduate. He graduated from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2003. Since then he has completed his Medical Internship and Residency at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago and did a year of Academic Fellowship at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford. Dr. Alam took that year to teach allopathic (MD) residents and students about osteopathic medicine and it's principles. Dr. Alam is very passionate about medicine and teaching. This serves as a good combination when he is taking care of his patients and trying to educate them about their medical conditions. Currently, Dr. Alam and his wife are both enjoying their 10 month old son. He hopes that one day his passion of osteopathic medicine will rub off on his son. Touch of Health |
